Background:
James & Dani met in 2025. Dani was heading home from work, exhausted & laughing off the news that her raise was "still coming." After a year of waiting, she looked up ads for a "punk singer" & found James. They’ve been making music ever since.
James’s roots go deep—he moved to the Bay in the 90s to record with Jello Biafra & worked as an artist liaison for Bill Graham Presents (even spending a day with David Bowie). He’s played everything from ska and punk to funk and alternative.
Dani's a rookie but has been active in the goth & indie-electronic bands. In Butterphunk, she’s ready to keep getting heavier & sillier (combining her love for parody/comedy and bands like Mannequin Pussy, Bikini Kill and Amyl & the Sniffers.
