dann corona
About
Dann Corona, a rising underground artist from San Diego & Tijuana, blends elements of punk, shoegaze, riot grrl, edm & hip-hop into her sound. After a motorcycle accident derailed her legal career, Dann, a former DJ, returned to her passion for music and now explores themes of grief, satire, and the human experience. With her debut singles ("Reference" and "Planet Caravan" cover) and album "A WAKE N U.S." on the horizon, Dann's music offers a new, silly (sometimes) and authentic voice in the alternative scene.

The Full Story
Dann Corona, a rising act in the alternative music scene, has crafted a unique sound inspired by punk, riot grrl, comedy, electronic music, metal, post-punk, grunge and hip hop. Hailing from the border cities of San Diego & Tijuana, Dann's journey into music is as unconventional as her sound.
After a motorcycle accident derailed her career path in political science and law school, Dann, a former DJ, returned to her passion for music. Despite later facing several tragedies, including the loss of her father and bandmate, Dann remained dedicated to her artistic pursuits, putting law school on hold.
As a member of the SF post-punk, goth, dark wave band Fundemento and as the former vocalist of the SF indie-electronic trip-hop group Another Dead Lover, Dann has established herself as a versatile performer. Her music serves as a cathartic outlet, exploring themes of grief, personal demons, satire, the state of the world and the complexities of the human experience. Through her songs, Dann invites listeners to confront their own struggles and find solace in the transformative power of art.
Dann Corona's debut single, "Reference," is set to be released in autumn 2024 with a music video to follow.
As she continues to evolve as an artist, Dann's music is sure to resonate with those seeking a fresh, silly and authentic voice in the alternative music scene. With her upcoming debut album slated for release in Spring 2025, Dann is already looking ahead to her next project: a melancholic punk parody band named DC and the Crises. Combining a love of comedy and punk, this side project offers a playful and satirical take on the genre.
